News of Folk by Sylvia

I know our 'Editor' will thank folk for their hard work in our Fund-Raising Week, but I wanted to add my thanks--not only to those who cooked but also to those who supported us. It was good to see friends who made an effort to come & join us.
I also have to report from the 'Manse Committee' that we are now nearly there--Sybil and Pete, Eileen and Chris have all had a well deserved week's holiday, so I think we are now on to the last lap.

We are sorry to say that Mary Sydenham died recently. It was very sudden, so a shock for Andy, Suzanne & David and of course all of the family. Mary was part of "Beer Life" & we shall all miss her--we send our love to the family.
Horace Ward has also died. He has been ill for some time but it is still sad to lose one of your family. He has a good family who I'm sure will look after Mum, Barbara.
Tom Clarke has also passed away. Tom & Iris had just moved to Check House but unfortunately Tom was unwell& was only there a few weeks. We send our thoughts to Peter and Francis, & of course to Iris.
Mr Kelly,
who lived on Barline, has also died--He has lived in Beer for many years now & was a gentleman. He has been poorly for some time. Please remember his wife who has been looking after him & will greatly miss him.

We remember in prayer the two 'Mary's' of our church.
Mary Davey's husband, Tony, is still in hospital but not responding too well to treatment. Mary thinks he will be home soon but not that well.
Mary Salter's sister is very poorly, it is distressing Mary to see her like it. They are looking for a suitable place for her. We just pray for Mary & family.

It is good to see
Alan Bailey back to his "old" self after his operation.
Myrtle is still not all that well but keeps going.
Jim Chapple has had an operation that was very successful, so we thank God for that.
Trixie Palmer is now managing to get down to the village quite often now.

Dorcas
is now walking well & being her usual lovely self. She is taking an Evening Service with Ann Barber this month so do come if you can.
I must once again thank all our 'supply' preachers who take our services. What wonderful messages we are receiving and a lovely start each Sunday morning with the children.

Thank you
Stephen Barrett for your donation towards the Newsletter. It was lovely to hear how much you & your church enjoy it--God Bless You & hope to see you soon.
We are pleased to say
Charlotte Wakley raised approximately £4750 from their sponsored horse ride from Bristol to Beer. This will be shared between Missions To Seamen & Cancer Research. Well done Charlotte

In trees and flowers of the field,
In creatures great and small,
We trace the watchful care of Him,
Who planned and made them all.
